Cheek Augmentation

The face loses volume as we age, and patients often come in with the problem of heaviness around their mouth thinking they need filler in their smile lines.  But the secret is to restore the lost volume in their cheeks for a mini-lift.

What is filler?

Fillers are a temporary way to add strategic fullness to your face like your lips, cheeks, temples or to refine the contour of your chin, nose or jawline.   If you are afraid of looking overinflated or too unnatural, know that fillers are only as good as the person injecting them.  It is always about proportion and harmony.

The safest fillers are based on hyaluronic acid (HA), which occurs naturally in your eye fluids, your joints and all over the human body.  It is very rare to have an allergic reaction.

These are the fillers I use and they are all FULLY REVERSIBLE.  In the unlikely event you don’t like the results, it can be reversed in minutes.

How long do the results last?

The body reabsorbs HA lip fillers within around 6-9 months.

Other facial fillers last longer (1-2 years) because other facial areas are not as mobile as the mouth, and so are not broken down as quickly.

There is no hard and fast rule to this, and is important to remember that everyone is different.

Is there downtime?

For most facial fillers there is usually 1-2 days of very minimal swelling after the procedure, something you might notice but a stranger would not.  Lips also swell for 1-2 days, but since they swell more than other parts of the face, I do not recommend planning any major social event for 1-2 days after this procedure.
